Carpenter / Carpenter’s Helper

Distinctive Design Construction – Slidell, LA

Distinctive Design Construction is a family-run marine construction company based in the Slidell area. We specialize in building boathouses, docks, bulkheads, and boat lifts. Our work is hands-on, outdoors, and almost always over or near the water.

We take pride in doing things the right way—quality work, treating customers right, and taking care of our crew. We’re a small team, and we’re looking for someone reliable who wants to learn and be part of something long-term.

What You’ll Do:

●    Assist in building docks, boathouses, bulkheads, and boat lifts

●    Perform general carpentry tasks (measuring, cutting, fastening, framing)

●    Work over water from boats, barges, and structures

●    Handle materials, tools, and equipment safely

●    Support pile driving and structural installation as needed

●    Maintain a clean and organized job site

Requirements:

●    Must have reliable transportation

●    Comfortable working outdoors in heat, humidity, and over water

●    Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical labor daily

●    Willingness to learn and take direction

●    Basic construction or carpentry experience is a plus, but not required

●    Dependable and shows up on time ready to work

Schedule:

●    Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

●    Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

●    No weekends
