Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Deaconess Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Recent Epic experience required. Dysphagia screen and strong neuro assessment skills required. Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, initiation/titration of drips (insulin, cardiac, heparin, etc.), and heart cath recovery (fem. and TR bands) required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: NG/PEG tubes, PIV insertion, Tikosyn dosing, and chest tubes preferred.

Unit Details: Complex Med/Surg/Tele patients, including post cardiac caths with interventions, CVA/TIA, ICD, complex abdominal surgeries (open bellies/colons), oncology, and cranis POD 2. Days ratio 1:4-5/6 (six is very rare); nights 1:6-7; charge nurse takes an assignment on all shifts. May require precepting students and new hires.

Shift & Scheduling: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule. Every other holiday. Flexible contract hours: 48 per week upon request. Orientation week may have reduced hours. Weekly hours may vary during holidays if the unit is closed.

Floating Requirements: First to float within skillset. May float to Deaconess Midtown (IN) and potentially Deaconess Henderson (KY); 2 HR notice is given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within the same campus; cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
