Salary: $76,000 - 116,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, web development, or a related specialty, and 2–4 years of relevant experience in web software development, web application development, or a comparable technical role.
• Experience designing and developing web-accessible software, including user interfaces, features, and reusable components; translating user needs and technical requirements into intuitive navigation, information architecture, and consistent interface designs.
• Knowledge of web technologies and tools, including CSS, JavaScript, HTML, Python, SQL, cloud-native tools, Perl, PHP, ASP, and C++.
• Experience developing, implementing, and debugging software code; familiarity with wireframing, prototyping, and visual design tools.
• Working knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements and applicable WCAG guidance, including accessible navigation, forms, and visual content.
• Experience with back-end database development and constructing SQL queries through CGI scripting.
• Ability to follow agency branding, design standards, and plain-language guidance while presenting complex information clearly.
• Ability to collaborate throughout the software development lifecycle, follow established development practices, and work with periodic direction while taking on increasingly complex tasks.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to coordinate with web administrators, designers, developers, and stakeholders.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a DHS/CISA Public Trust clearance.
• Experience designing Federal Government applications, dashboards, geospatial interfaces, or data visualization experiences is preferred; DHS Trusted Tester certification is also preferred.

• Support modernization of the Critical Infrastructure Collaboration Platform (CICP) through web software design, development, integration, and testing.
• Design and develop user-focused, web-accessible software solutions that meet business requirements and improve legacy workflows.
• Collaborate with web administrators, designers, developers, analysts, and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs, and contribute to new features and application enhancements.
• Design and implement user-friendly graphical interfaces that follow CISA branding and approved design standards.
• Develop, implement, and debug application code using approved web technologies, and maintain reusable interface components.
• Design and develop supporting web infrastructure, including back-end databases and SQL queries through CGI scripting.
• Integrate web interfaces with application services, APIs, dashboards, geospatial tools, and approved enterprise visualization tools.
• Incorporate Section 508 accessibility into iterations and releases; test keyboard access, focus order, contrast, labels, error messages, and assistive technology compatibility.
• Participate in agile planning, code reviews, and design reviews; complete assigned work with periodic direction and escalate complex technical issues.
• Support test plans and acceptance criteria by testing usability, accessibility, responsive layouts, and browser compatibility, and documenting defects and recommendations.
• Coordinate with security and development teams on access controls, privacy, and secure handling of Protected Critical Infrastructure Information (PCII).
• Support migration and deployment by reviewing interface readiness, identifying user experience impacts, and validating updated workflows after release.
• Review application and front-end changes for design conformance, accessibility, security, and maintainability, and resolve defects before release.
• Maintain design assets, interface documentation, and user workflow references for knowledge transfer, sustainment, and future enhancements.

The role is remote/hybrid and supports work at DHS CISA locations at 4200 Wilson Boulevard and 4601 N. Fairfax Drive in Arlington, Virginia.
