Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical Unit

Job Type: Full-Time | 0.9 FTE or 72 hours per pay period

Sign-On Bonus: $7,500 available for eligible candidates

Schedule: 6 shifts of 12 hours, primarily nights with some days (7 AM - 7 PM), rotating weekends and holidays

About Our Team

We operate a 54-bed acute Medical and Surgical unit, divided into three wings with 18 beds each. Our team benefits from strong support from care aides, allowing for effective patient care. You will encounter a diverse range of patient conditions and interventions, providing ample opportunities to refine your skills and advance your career. The unit is dynamic, with continuous admissions and discharges throughout each shift.

Your Contributions

As a Med Surg RN, your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing care plans, which encompass medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical interventions.
• Documenting all patient care activities.
• Monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and their families as necessary.
• Assisting patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination, and mobility.
• Collaborating with various disciplines to ensure coordinated patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and addressing spiritual or psychosocial needs.
• Assessing the educational needs of patients and/or families and providing tailored education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocating for the physical and emotional health of patients.

What We Are Looking For

Candidates should hold a current RN license in Michigan and have an associate's degree from an accredited nursing program (a bachelor's degree is preferred).

Additional qualifications include:

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred)
