Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Care Manager Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/02/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Local Contract Job Summary – Remote Utilization Review / Care Manager Work Mode: 100% Remote Shift: Day, 5×8 hours Schedule: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM PST Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Must work 3 of 5 designated holidays Charting System: Epic License: Active California license required Required Experience & Qualifications Minimum 3 years of acute-care Medical Care Management / Utilization Rev i ew experience in a hospital setting. Recent Epic experience within the last 6–12 months. InterQual experience is mandatory. Strong Medicare knowledge, including the Two-Midnight Rule and utilization management regulations. Experience with CC44s, ABNs, HINNs, and MCSNs. Knowledge of California regulations and Medi-Cal. Experience with inpatient, extended hospital outpatient, and observation services. Understanding of medical necessity, admission criteria, concurrent and retrospective reviews, continued-stay reviews, and discharge/plan-of-care coordination. Important Requirements This is a 100% remote role supporting four facilities, and candidates must be flexible to rotate between them. Must work according to Pacific Standard Time. Candidates with only Kaiser experience may not qualify. Hospital-based UR experience is required; health plan or medical group experience alone is insufficient. Zero overtime unless approved by leadership in advance; strict compliance with California meal and rest break laws. Request all time off and scheduling preferences at submission. Only one Providence facility submission is allowed at a time.
