Division Overview Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. With a large printable surface area and a wide range of sizes, shapes and decorating options, our aluminum cans are the perfect packaging format to create compelling brand presence where it counts. Here at the Olympia Plant, we currently manufacture 12 oz. beverage cans. It is your chance to join the Crown Beverage Division. Position Overview This is a dual position: Forklift Operator: ensures the packaging, handling, and shipment of a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Palletizer Operator: works independently inspecting product and line. Location Olympia, WA Salary $30.04 - $30.04 per hour – Forklift Driver $30.04 - $30.04 per hour – Palletizer Operator Actual salary will be determined based on skill and experience level. Under the union contract this position also includes a union pension. Forklift Operator Duties and Responsibilities Ensures all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules. Operates sit-down propane forklift to transport inventory and load tractor trailers for shipment. Transports inventory in warehouse to correct locations and stages orders for shipment. Understands daily production schedule and corresponds with management, leads, and coworkers accordingly. Performs visual inspection of aluminum cans and packaging quality. Monitors schedules, equipment, or processes, and reports problems to Supervisor. Follows all SOP’s (standard operating procedures) and communicates with proper personnel as concerns or issues arise. Assist Quality Assurance in locating pallets for sampling. Performs other related duties as required. Palletizer Operator Duties and Responsibilities The Palletizer Operator is an entry-level position and will be responsible for operating automatic can palletizing equipment to pattern and/or transfer cans to and from pallets. Job Requirements Minimum 18 years old. High School diploma or G.E.D preferred. Equivalent with 3+ years working on a sit-down forklift experience required. Working in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred). Must be able to withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer and winter months. Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment. Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time. Effective record-keeping skills and the ability to focus on details. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods as well as work on elevated stationary platforms and withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer months. Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record-keeping, and precision abilities is highly desirable. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, either nights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., or days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekends and overtime as business needs dictate. This position requires union membership after 30 days of hire. Preferred Requirements OSHA/Forklift Trainer Certified. Beverage Packaging industry experience. Knowledge of AS400.
