Maintenance Technician

Find out if this opportunity is a good fit by reading all of the information that follows below.As a Maintenance Technician for Innospec Performance Chemicals, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance and improvement of process equipment using advanced machine repair and metal fabrication skills. You must be highly quality-conscious, aggressively self-directed, a motivated team player, and willing and eager to gain and share new knowledge. Using technical drawings and schematics, troubleshoot and repair complex process and facilities equipment.Essential FunctionsUse machine tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices to fabricate machine parts, various mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, electrical equipment, and lawn equipmentPerform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks (i.e., cleaning, inspection, and lubrication) as necessary, but routinely in cases requiring advanced technical expertise and knowledge of safety procedures (e.g., electrical cabinets, machine interiors, etc.)Thoroughly document maintenance activity using the maintenance database, adequately communicate maintenance issues to appropriate employees (e.g., other maintenance techs, operators, engineers, supervisors, etc.), and properly utilize the maintenance inventory systemChampion process improvement in assigned areas by analyzing equipment maintenance history, identifying significant causes of waste, coordinating with appropriate employees to develop root-cause solutions, and providing maintenance assistance as necessaryProvide Preventative Maintenance support for plant and equipmentRepair and maintain items necessary to maintain process equipment in "Grade A" conditionAssist in day-to-day support of operators, adjustments, setups, and change oversAssist other maintenance technicians as requiredParticipate on improvement teams and coordinate with engineers and vendors on special projectsPerform other duties as requested by managementShift work may be required at times'On-call' rotation is required, typically one week every 4 to 6 weeks, due to manufacturing equipment in continual 24-hour operationFollow all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by Innospec and the departmentRole RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentAt least 3 years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a chemical facilityMust obtain lockout certification and be able to wear OSHA approved safety gearAdvanced mechanical OR electrical skills (PLC troubleshooting skills preferred)Ability to effectively manage multiple tasksAbility to follow, retain and communication detailed instructionsAbility to follow Innospec policies and proceduresAbility to get along with others, follow instructions and support teammatesExceptional attendance, punctuality, and work ethicPositive attitude with ability to work a fast-paced environmentStrong safety, quality, and customer orientationAbility to work within a team to reach a common goalAbility to work independently and self-directedAbility to manage time, organize and prioritize work effectively and efficientlyAbility to work a flexible schedule, on-call, and overtime as neededExtensive knowledge of OSHA requirements and industrial workplace practicesMust willingly accept any other duties/changes to position to fit the needs for production as requested by Manager and/or SupervisorMaintenance/Mechanical/Electrical or other relevant certifications, and/or education a plusEnvironmental Restrictions Ability to perform essential job duties in both indoor and outdoor environments, including offices, facilities, and external job sites.Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, moving equipment, and uneven terrain.Physical requirements may include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and operating tools or equipment as necessary to perform job responsibilities.Regular attendance and adherence to company safety policies are required. xhyhwjd In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and applicable state laws, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
