Required Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in physical therapy Physical Therapy experience; new graduates are welcome to apply Other certifications or licenses may be required Summary Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. Works in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers to create personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy. Requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, critical thinking, and a commitment to high‑quality, safe patient care. Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement treatment plans using various techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain. Operate specialized equipment and modalities safely and effectively; maintain and calibrate devices. Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other professionals for coordinated care. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and injury prevention. Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development. Collaborate in discharge planning for smooth transitions. Perform other duties within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication. Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English. PC skills. Physical Abilities Remain stationary; move about; move equipment (50–100 lbs); push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor Skills Grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move around while assisting with procedures or using equipment. Mental Requirements Coping with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently.
