Registered Nurse (RN) - Med-Surg

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a Med-Surg unit. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Med-Surg setting.
Monitor and assess patient conditions, executing appropriate interventions as necessary.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate and implement patient care plans.
Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and post-discharge care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 16 private rooms
Patient Ratios: 1:4 with 1:3 accommodations for acuity
Common Diagnoses/Treatments: ETOH detox, Post PCI, DKA/HHS, Cardiac, GI, BIPAP

Qualifications

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in a Med-Surg or related setting
Certifications: BLS, ACLS (Must have training in ACLS or some type of rhythm interpretation course)
Skills: EKG/Cardiac Monitoring, Respiratory assessment and support, Medication titration
Float Requirements: Willingness to float to other units as needed

Work Schedule

This position requires 12-hour night shifts with a commitment to working 36 hours per week. Candidates should be available to work two weekend shifts within a two-week pay period.

Additional Notes

Ideal candidates will be proficient in managing diverse patient populations, particularly geriatric and adult patients. A collaborative mindset and a commitment to high-quality care are essential for success in this role.
