Overview Admixture/Pharmacy Technician The Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is looking for an Admixture/Pharmacy Technician to join our phenomenal team. The pharmaceutical treatment of cancer is a specialized and ever-changing field. The team at WVCI is looking for a tech to help prepare, maintain, and deliver medications for our amazing patients. Our pharmacy department has both retail and admixture departments that support our patients' treatment journey. This role also allows technicians with strong retail experience to build on their skills and work toward the higher levels of the pharmacy technician scope. This role will also support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Pay range: $19.00 – $46.80. The actual hiring rate depends on factors such as prior work experience, education, job responsibilities, location, and performance. Employment Type: 1.0 FTE Full-time Schedule: Varied. Shifts may start at 4:00 am Benefits: M/D/V, Life Ins., 401(k) Location: Springfield, OR. Training in Albany, OR for 4–6 weeks Responsibilities Assists with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications. Checks all orders for completeness of information, verifies patient information and proper physician authorization. Admixes drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines and prepares all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines. Calculates correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents. Properly disposes of all materials used when mixing chemo or non‑chemo IVs, assists in cleaning hoods daily, checks drugs monthly for outdates, and performs other quality assurance activities as assigned. Assists in keeping accurate temperature logs and logs on all protocol drugs and patient assistance drugs. Maintains proper control documentation of medications including lot numbers, provides support with inventory control of medications, prepares labels, files and prepares billing, and performs basic data entry into department automation. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent education. 1–3 years of experience in a pharmacy. Pharmacy Tech Certificate required.
