RN Psychiatric Med-Surg

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Psych/Med-Surg provides skilled nursing care to patients in inpatient mental health or medical/surgical units with higher acuity. The role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care. This is an in-person, temp-to-hire position requiring strong clinical skills and at least one year of relevant inpatient experience. Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments and monitor mental health or medical/surgical conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, patients, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide patient education and support to promote recovery and health maintenance.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.
• Participate in orientation and training sessions as required.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas.
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient experience in mental health or medical/surgical or higher acuity settings.
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient environment.
• Availability to complete a minimum 3-day orientation (Sunday through Wednesday) from 7am to 7pm.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in both psychiatric and medical/surgical inpatient care.
• Previous temp-to-hire or contract nursing experience.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.

Special Considerations:

• Temporary to hire assignment with onsite work at 812 W Morphy St, Fort Worth, TX.
• Required to wear scrubs as dress code.
• Orientation requires full availability for 3 consecutive days, Sunday through Wednesday, 7am to 7pm.

Scheduling:

• In-person shifts primarily on inpatient mental health or medical/surgical units.
• Orientation shifts are scheduled Sunday to Wednesday, 7am to 7pm.
• Subsequent shifts to be determined based on unit needs and assignment.
