Summary:
\nProvides occupational therapy services. Evaluates patients, sets goals, plans programs and treats patients according to the physician’s orders; maintains required records and notes; assists with directing technicians and support personnel, assumes responsibility for occupational charges; participates in educational programs; follow all CHRISTUS St. Michael and departmental policy and procedures.
\nResponsibilities:
\n- \n
- Maintains consistency with Administrative and Departmental policies with appropriate behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability. \n
- Performs patients care related duties in order to restore the patient to his/her maximum level of independence and function according to accepted standards of ethical conduct for the occupational therapist. \n
- Clinical competencies in occupational therapist skills and techniques are demonstrated in a manner that promotes quality patient care. \n
- Participates in established inter-departmental and intra-departmental communication systems and methods to achieve departmental, hospital and corporate goals. \n
- Maintains required records/documentation on a timely manner as specified in departmental policy and procedures manual. \n
- Participated in maintaining/improving the effectiveness of the services provided by the occupational therapy department. \n
- Participates in medical chart peer review, case record review and utilization review as deemed necessary. \n
- Assumes responsibility for therapeutic equipment safety, operation and maintenance. \n
Requirements:
\nEducation/Skills
\n- \n
- High school diploma required \n
- Basic Computer Knowledge \n
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written \n
- Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy assisting from an accredited occupational therapy program, approved by AOTA \n
Experience
- \n
- New graduate entry level or any amount of experience in physical therapy is acceptable \n
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
\n- \n
- Maintains current licensure/registration/certification and provides the hospital with proof of indicated requirements \n
- BCLS certification required \n
