Billing Analyst

Description Position Summary
This is an advanced generalist role on the Billing Team. Billers at Lawndale fall into one of three levels, Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III. This role is the Tier II role. This person reports to the assigned department manager.
She or he is responsible for performing day-to-day tasks to ensure timely billing, collections, and payment postings for services provided by LCHC providers, and other duties as assigned.
In addition, this person has shown to be competent in most revenue cycle functions and is the expert in at least one area of the billing role (charge entry, AR, or posting) with the ability to answer some questions from peers and troubleshoot issues. They will also conduct trainings and give occasional input into processes and workflows.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities*
- Advanced work and knowledge in at least one of the core billing areas of charge entry, AR, or posting
- Ability to train colleagues
- Perform advanced problem-solving and performance improvement of workflow issues in core area
- Occasionally perform advanced Data entry and providing project-based deliverables
- Problem-solve most billing issues on their own
- Delivering superior customer service skills in addressing patient questions and concerns
- Other billing, audit, teaching, project, and practice management tasks as needed
- Organized and data-driven, efficient with work lists
- Ability to effectively communicate, pursue solutions, and problem-solve with internal and external parties
- Ability to collaborate closely with teammates as well as work autonomously
- Ability to work efficiently using technology-based tools and processes
- HS Diploma
- Financial certification in relevant field a plus
- Experience with Lawndale's Practice Management systems
- Experience in dealing with Insurance Companies and patients regarding financial claims questions
- At least 4 years related experience in healthcare w/ emphasis in operations, billing, and administration
- Well versed in computers, internet work, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of LCHC's practice management system is required
