Seasonal Truck Driver

The primaryresponsibility of R.D Offutt Farms SeasonalTruck Drivers is to haul product from designated farm bins to the customer. All drivers are required to hold a valid driver’s license. Daily timekeeping logs, potato load logs, pre- and post-trip inspections, and scale weight tickets are also the driver’s responsibility. Drivers are responsible for loading and unloading trucks, including operating a remote control for loading. Job Duties: Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to management Collect delivery instructions from the trucking office and field supervisors, verifying instructions and routes Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons to transport and deliver product Check conditions of truck box after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned Secure cargo for transport, using tarps Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary Communicate effectively with management and other team members Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of R.D.
