Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Inpatient Rehab

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 33-bed adult Medical Surgical unit (no telemetry) with a 1:6 patient ratio, with potential flex up to 1:7
• Care for patients with complex diagnoses including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputation, and multi-trauma
• Perform and manage peripheral line care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
• Float to a neighboring inpatient Medical Surgical unit as needed (Med Surg floors only)
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation; EPIC charting experience strongly preferred
• Fulfill weekend, holiday, and scheduling requirements including up to one holiday per 13-week contract period

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required at time of submission (pending license accepted only if candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state)
• BLS certification required
• Experience in Medical Surgical and Inpatient Rehabilitation nursing settings
• Proficiency in peripheral line care, oxygen delivery systems, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Must work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment; winter holiday assignments may require two holidays
• Candidates residing within 100 miles of the facility are generally not accepted; limited exceptions may apply for candidates residing 50–99.9 miles away for a single 13-week assignment with no extension eligibility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse) certification preferred
• CPI Blue Card certification highly preferred
• EPIC electronic health record experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are also considered
