As a full-time Psychiatric RN, you blend psychiatric and physical health nursing to help people stabilize, heal, and get back to their lives.This is voluntary, community-based crisis care — a warm, respite-style setting, not a hospital ward or a revolving door. You'll work at the bedside and alongside a close-knit team, using every part of your license: assessment, medication management, de-escalation, health monitoring, teaching, and care coordination. Psychiatric and physical health nursing, medication management, teaching, and coordination — all in one role. You're at the bedside. Psychiatric providers, therapists, and crisis staff work shoulder-to-shoulder with you in a trauma-informed environment. You help people get home. You guide individuals and families from crisis through stabilization and back into the community.Compensation: Salary to be discussed upon interview.Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, benefits eligibleThe Role At A GlanceYou'll plan, implement, and evaluate programs of nursing care and therapeutic intervention that support stabilization, promote wellness, and help people reintegrate into the community — always in step with the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act, Nebraska DHHS behavioral health regulations, and facility policies.What You'll DoAssess & Deliver Nursing CareProvide comprehensive psychiatric nursing assessments — routine and urgent/emergent as clinically indicated.Conduct physical health screenings, assess ongoing medical needs, and screen for health risks at intake and periodically.Identify conditions requiring referral, consultation, or transfer to a higher level of care.Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans consistent with the interdisciplinary treatment plan.Manage MedicationsAdminister and manage medications in collaboration with the CSRC psychiatric provider and other licensed providers, per the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act and orders.Perform medication reconciliation at admission and discharge, and monitor therapeutic response, side effects, and effectiveness.Ensure secure storage and accurate documentation of medications, including controlled substances.Provide medication education to individuals and families.Monitor Health & Withdrawal RiskMonitor vital signs and overall physical health status.Watch for indicators of substance use complications or mild withdrawal.
