S&L Industrial is seeking a Traffic Control Estimator to join our growing team. As a Traffic Control Estimator you'll be responsible for preparing bid proposals for traffic control work, analyzing the market, and developing customer relationships.

This is an in-person position that will regularly partner with our corporate office in Omaha, NE.

What You'll Do

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform quantity take-offs and develop detailed cost estimates
• Prepare and submit quotes and bids within deadlines
• Coordinate pricing with vendors and subcontractors
• Ensure compliance with DOT standards and project requirements
• Attend pre-bid meetings and communicate project scope internally
• Track bid results and analyze outcomes to improve future estimates
• Collaborate with operations on scheduling, logistics, staffing, and execution across multiple locations
• Maintain accurate and organized project documentation
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and partners

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of traffic control estimating experience
• Experience with traffic control, striping, or roadway projects preferred
• Familiarity with bid software (e.g., Bid2Win) is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage priorities across multi-state operations
• Self-motivated with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Valid driver's license with a strong driving record
• Willingness to travel approximately 20%

Work Environment & Requirements

• In-person, office-based role with extended computer use
• Travel required for pre-bid meetings and project coordination
• Occasional work outside standard business hours to meet bid deadlines
