Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active compact license accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: - Previous experience in Ortho and scrub experience Description: Previous permanent staff are not permitted to work as travelers. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Two years of experience required. First-time travelers are accepted. On-call shifts are 12 hours. Weekday on-call shifts are from 7 PM to 7 AM. Weekend and holiday call shifts vary between 7 PM to 7 AM and 7 AM to 7 PM. Call is divided evenly among approximately 15 RNs. Weekend coverage is for on-call support only. Floating may be required to other campuses. Required competencies include robotics, procedure sedation, blood and blood product administration, and care of vascular devices. Experience in Wound Vac and Epidural Pumps is required. Robotics and ENT experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should have the ability to scrub in for various surgeries, including ENT, orthopedic, trauma, and vascular procedures. The unit provides care for multiple diagnosis types, including orthopedic, general surgery, urology, gynecology, and spine. The daily census averages around 20 cases per day. This position involves both inpatient (30%) and outpatient (70%) care, with 10% pediatric involvement. All responsibilities and qualifications are critical and will be considered during the selection process.
