Velocity is on a mission to establish Polkadot as the best ecosystem to build DeFi applications. We are doing this by developing and integrating the essential infrastructure and tooling required for applications to flourish on Polkadot. In parallel, Velocity offers robust incubation services, transforming innovative ideas into fully realized projects. We deliver comprehensive engineering, product, and Go-To-Market support, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new builders on Polkadot.

Responsibilities

We're seeking a mid to senior-level Frontend Engineer to be our principal frontend developer. This is a specialized frontend role where you'll lead the architecture of Turtle.

• Take ownership of the frontend architecture and development of Turtle, making key technical decisions that will shape the product's feature, UI and UX.
• Collaborate closely with the team to gather and translate product requirements into elegant, useful and intuitive user interfaces
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using TypeScript and React
• Contribute to product design decisions, bringing both technical expertise and user experience perspective
• Help establish frontend development standards and best practices

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have the following technical qualifications:

• Strong expertise in React and TypeScript. You should be comfortable diving straight in and contributing from day one
• 4+ years as a frontend engineer, with a strong understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, CSS, and good development principles
• An eye for detail and a knack for building user-friendly, visually and functionally appealing interfaces
• Excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate in a cozy, rapid environment
• Based in CET timezone or neighboring timezones (+/-2 hours from CET) for effective team collaboration

Nice to Have's

While not mandatory, the following qualifications and experience are considered advantageous:

• In-depth knowledge of the Polkadot ecosystem and its technologies
• Previous experience in building decentralized applications (dApps) in the DeFi space
• Experience in designing sleek UI animations
• A bold and artistic vein
