As a Behavior Interventionist here at Devereux, you will collaborate with others who share your passion to help adults in need in the Ventura County area.

Initial training will need to be done in Goleta and initial workload may be within Santa Barbara area.

You will be offered:

• $28.25 per hour

• Schedule: Typically Monday-Friday (some weekends may be required based on client needs) with flexible scheduling between 9am-8:30pm

Under the supervision of a BCBA, the Behavior Interventionistworks directly with clients with behavioral challenges and provides staff training to support generalization throughout the day. Additional duties include but are not limited to:

• The primary function of the Behavior Interventionist is to reduce problem behaviors while teaching functionally equivalent replacement behaviors.

• The interventionist will implement the behavior plans ofeach individual,will respond with theappropriate proactiveand reactive strategies to reduce problem behaviors and support with conducting assessments and D-PBIS.

• May provide direction, training and mentorship to family members and staff of individual served relative to behavioral strategies and implementation of individual behavior programs.

• Will work under the direction of a BCBA and will receive ongoing training and supervision

The hours for this position will vary based on client needs. Schedules may vary between 9am-6:30pm and 12pm-8:30pm. Typical work days will be Monday-Friday, but weekend availability may be needed on rare occasions. Candidate availability up for discussion. Initial training and clients may be based in Santa Barbara/Goleta and candidates must be able to work in the area as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS :

• Current and valid driver's license and clean driving record

• Pass a thorough background check and livescan fingerprint

EDUCATION: Possesses aBachelorsdegree of Arts or Science Degree in a related field: Psychology, social work, human services, education, and has:

• Twelve (12) semester units in applied behavior analysis and one year of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services; or

• Two (2) years of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services.

EXP ERIENCE: 1– 2 years of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services as described above.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to take and pass Safe and Positive Approaches (S&PA) training, including initial training during orientation andsubsequentre-certifications

• Significant and frequent amounts of walking, sitting, stooping,bendingand standing arerequired

• Frequent use of computers and office equipment

• Frequent outside activities with exposure to sunlight and potentially inclement (severe, rough,harshor stormy weather

• From the starting point of hire and every 12 months thereafter, will receive an annual TB test showing evidence you are free from infectious pulmonary tuberculosis.
