Step into a classroom environment dedicated to inclusion and individualized support as a Special Education Teacher for a full-time maternity leave coverage. This contract role, located near Brockton, MA, offers the chance to make a meaningful difference at the elementary level from now through December 23rd.
In this position, you’ll join a collaborative team focused on student-centered instruction and strong partnerships with families and staff. You’ll play a key part in implementing and adapting IEPs, helping students access the curriculum, and ensuring every learner’s needs are met in a supportive, welcoming setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Special Education teaching certification (appropriate MA licensure required)
- Previous experience working with elementary aged children with diverse learning needs
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Adaptability in dynamic classroom environments
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and modifications aligned with student IEPs
- Assess academic and functional development; monitor and document progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth
- Participate in team meetings and support transition planning as needed
