Take your expertise in speech-language pathology to the vibrant community near Danbury, CT, where you'll make a lasting impact on elementary school students. This contract role immerses you in a supportive school environment, working with a collaborative team to help children thrive academically and personally. The position is ready for an immediate start and runs through June 10th, with a 35-hour workweek across five days.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Valid Connecticut (CT) Teaching Licenses required
- Speech-Language Pathologist certification (SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY)
- Experience or strong interest in working within elementary school settings
- Comprehensive knowledge of speech and language interventions in a school context
- Effective communication skills when engaging with students, staff, and families
- Strong organizational skills for caseload management and documentation
Your Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to elementary-aged students, individually and in groups
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans targeting speech, language, and communication challenges
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to foster student growth
- Maintain thorough records on assessments, progress, and services in accordance with state and school guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to student goals, and provide resources to families and staff
