Thrift Store Clerk

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Thrift Store Clerk to join our team at The Arc of LaGrange County. As a Thrift Store Clerk, you will provide exceptional customer service, operate cash registers, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide friendly service to customers, answering questions and assisting with purchases

• Operate cash register and handle cash, credit card transactions, and count change

• Sort and clean donations, including removing price tags from donated items

• Straighten all household items, pictures, clothing, etc. throughout the day and especially before leaving the store at night

• Keep all merchandise in appropriate sections and rotate merchandise according to seasons

• Look for ways to improve processes and efficiencies

• Perform miscellaneous tasks, including cleaning the employee break room, bathrooms, and emptying trash cans

• Ensure completion of other duties assigned on the Daily Planner Form

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)

• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly

• Availability to work days, weekends, and occasional holidays
