Apply Today!     Where You Will Work   Tyrone is an open-pit copper mining complex located in Grant County, New Mexico – just 10 miles south of the historic mining community of Silver City. The copper processing facilities currently consist of a solvent extraction/electrowinning operation with an annual maximum capacity of approximately 100 million pounds of copper.   The community of Silver City boasts various restaurants, arts, entertainment, cliff dwellings, festivals and much more. From unique shopping finds in the galleries to everyday groceries, schools and housing, there are numerous amenities for everyone.  Visit Silver City to learn more.  This position may be eligible for Freeport-McMoRan immigration work visa sponsorship.What You Will DoDevelop mining plans based on all available geological information to support short and/or long-range planning and production goals. Participate in Engineering feasibility studies to define proper mining methods, equipment selection, mine site facilities, and manpower and production requirements. Assist in the preparation of detailed ore reserve estimates. Monitor mining methods and equipment to improve performance. Ensure maximum productivity and extraction rates by optimizing mining methods, procedures, and equipment. Assist in developing and managing mine, mine ventilation, waste dumps and stockpile designs. Recommend courses of action designed to eliminate potential production problems and to improve safety, operational efficiency, control production costs and protect the environment. Work with Geologists in exploration and assists in the Engineering phase of developments and operational activities. Monitor mine ventilation and air quality at working sites throughout the mine. Perform other duties as required. What You Bring To FreeportBachelor's degree in Mine Engineering or related Engineering discipline and three (3) years of related experience in Engineering, ORMaster's degree in Mine Engineering or related Engineering discipline and two (2) years of related experience in Engineering Knowledge of the principles and practices of Mine Engineering Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions. Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingPreferred QualificationsWhat We Offer You  The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $87,500 - $120,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
