Summary:
\nThe Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) performs a range of non-invasive vascular diagnostic procedures to support the assessment and treatment of vascular conditions. Operating under general guidance, the RVT applies specialized clinical knowledge and judgment to produce accurate and high-quality imaging results. This role requires independent decision-making within established protocols and contributes to the overall efficiency and quality of the vascular lab.
\nResponsibilities:

- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. \n
- Conducts vascular ultrasound examinations including carotid, peripheral arterial, venous, and abdominal studies. \n
- Applies knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology to obtain diagnostic-quality images. \n
- Ensures proper documentation and labeling of studies in accordance with departmental standards. \n
- Works independently on assignments of limited to moderate complexity with general guidance. \n
- Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate imaging approaches. \n
- Elevates complex or unusual cases to senior technologists or management for review. \n
- Adheres to established protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. \n
- Participates in routine equipment maintenance and quality control procedures. \n
- Maintains accurate records and contributes to continuous improvement efforts. \n
- Interfaces primarily with internal clinical staff and patients in a customer service-oriented manner. \n
- Communicates effectively with referring providers to clarify orders and ensure appropriate study selection. \n
- May assist with patient education regarding procedures and preparation. \n
- Perform other related duties as assigned. \n
Job Requirements:
\nEducation/Skills
\n- \n
- Graduate of an accredited vascular technology, medical sonography, or equivalent program required \n
Experience
\n- \n
- 1 – 3 years of vascular ultrasound experience preferred \n
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
\n- \n
- One of the following registrations is required \n
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS \n
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RSV) by CCI \n
- Vascular Sonography (VS) by ARRT \n
- Vascular Sonography (VS) state license is required in New Mexico \n
- BLS required \n
