AI/ML Applied Scientist Remote

Salary: $112,300 - 134,800 per year Requirements:

• We require a masters degree in computer science, machine learning, statistics, engineering, mathematics, or another STEM field.
• We require 3+ years of experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• We require 2+ years of experience applying machine learning to natural language processing, multimodal RT processing, and/or other AI areas.
• We require 2+ years of experience in generative AI, grounding architectures, fine-tuning LLMs, and/or improving pre-trained LLM performance.
• We require 2+ years of experience developing machine learning applications.
• We require 1+ year of hands-on experience in agentic research and development.
• A PhD in machine learning with a focus on NLP and/or GenAI is preferred.
• Experience in advanced deep learning, applied mathematics, and statistics is preferred.
• Strong technical and scientific knowledge of generative AI is preferred.

• We develop new solutions and best practices for Responsible AI.
• We design and implement methods that extend and improve LLM capabilities and reliability.
• We research, architect, and deliver scalable machine learning solutions.
• We shape our research and innovation agenda.
• We build, implement, and deploy deep learning models, RAG systems, and LLMs.
• We collaborate closely with the Optum AI team and fellow scientists and engineers.
