Pharmacy Technician

Duties

Help

Receive and review individual prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals, to include controlled drugs, to determine king, strength, and dosage of drugs to be dispensed.
Interpret prescription orders for appropriateness and conformity with established standards.
Set up prescriptions by obtaining correct stock container and calculating quantities.
Prepare, package, and label prescriptions and drug orders as ordered by the pharmacist and in accordance with pharmaceutical rules, regulations, and procedures.
Conduct interviews with patients or their caregivers for the purpose of establishing medication history.
Provide drug information to patients and caregivers and counsels patients/caregivers on proper medication use.
