General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a general manager in the restaurant industry
High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
Manager Food Safety certification
At least 21 years old
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong ability to build relationships with guests and team members

General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

Bilingual abilities are a plus

General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Consistently deliver exceptional customer service, proactively resolving concerns and fostering guest loyalty
Serve as the "personality" of the restaurant, engaging with regulars and participating in community activities
Oversee all daily operations, ensuring high standards for food quality, service, and cleanliness
Collaborate with the kitchen team to deliver outstanding menu offerings and streamline service
Lead, motivate, and develop staff through hiring, training, and ongoing coaching, supporting their growth and success
Manage scheduling, labor forecasting, and budget adherence to drive profitability
Implement and uphold all food safety, handling, and sanitation requirements, ensuring a safe work environment
Execute company marketing programs and local initiatives to drive sales and grow the restaurant's reputation
