Systems Engineer

JT4, LLC Engineer IVJT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. For work specific to Colorado Springs, JT4 supports the National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC) – Electronic Domain portion of the range.Job Duties - Essential FunctionsAn Engineer IV serves as a technical advisor responsible for a broad program involving development, budgeting, scheduling, project management assistance, and installation and integration of systems. Duties include planning and overseeing research, design, development, manufacturing, testing, installation, integration, sustainment, operation, and maintenance of diverse software, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and systems. Specifically, this position includes sustainment activities to include sparing, obsolescence and tech refresh analysis and planning.Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:Perform in a supervisor role for engineers involved in the development, testing, integration, and sustainment of specialized and diverse software, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment, and systemsDetermine test objectives, instrumentation, and data requirementsWrite test planning documents, schedule program activities, track funding and expenditures, plan and conduct test missions, analyze resultant data, document results in test reports, statistical evaluations and briefing presentationsDirect interface with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final designAct as liaison for test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specificationsGenerate complete design specifications for more complex projectsCoordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirementsVerify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test proceduresPrepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studiesSupport development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of workAct as a company/industry expert resource on the most complex engineering problemsMaintain technical project responsibility for assigned tasks and advise management of progress in support of the technical and administrative direction of project operationsConduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendationsDevelop, interpret, and implement technical and administrative operating policies and proceduresPerform other job-related duties, as requiredDesired QualificationsThis Engineer IV candidate will have the following desired background/experience:Mission system sustainment that includes Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP)Mission system sparing analysis and plans to include RMA and MTBFMission system obsolescence analysis and plans to include EOL, EOS for hardware, software and firmwareTech refresh analysis and planning for more significant engineering upgradesRequirements - Education, Technical, and Work ExperienceA Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and eight (8) years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering and a minimum of six (6) years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum four (4) years of related engineering experience are required for this position.In addition, an Engineer IV must possess the following qualifications:Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to provide consultative services on development programs and in the design and development of systems and componentsKnowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve complex problems in the specialty areaWorking knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering toolsWell-developed leadership skillsAbility to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems from a broad prospectiveExcellent communication and analytical skillsPlanning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlinesSalaryThe expected salary range for this position is $103,000 to $163,000 annually.Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay.
