Plant Operator (37301)
$22 - $25 per hourTinsley Companies
DESCRIPTION:
- Operate computerized controls to produce quality asphalt mixtures according to specifications and mix designs for State and local customers
- Deliver specified mixture and quantities onto trucks/load trucks and create proper tickets
- Be able to recognize improper tickets and correct them
- Ensure personnel safety including customers delivering/receiving materials
- Monitor the operation and function of the plant throughout the workday
- Assist with plant maintenance and routine servicing
- Assist plant foreman with ordering supplies and materials
- Train plant personnel and have knowledge of their daily tasks
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
- 1-3 experience years including familiarized with aspects of mix design, mix design manufacturing process, and operation and maintenance of a computerized plant
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Use of simple math, including use of Excel workbooks or similar with knowledge of formulas, charts, tables, drawings
- General computer skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Moderate physical activity required
- Occasional lifting of heavy material, especially when plant is under repair
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school diploma or GED
