Project Manager I Milliman's CMH Health practice has created an exciting new role for a Project Manager I to deliver structured project management services for the Health practices most common products and services for client and internal engagements. The Project Manager I is a team player who thrives in an environment of autonomy and is comfortable with ambiguity. They are technically minded and able to adapt to differing project management methodologies on the fly as situations evolve. They enjoy challenging and dynamic project assignments with a high degree of tenacity, decisiveness, and humility. Each project team is selected to support the client's needs and may require a cross‑functional approach. The project team may include pharmacists, doctors, actuaries, health care analysts, and data scientists. The CMH Health practice is a high‑performing environment with multiple subject matter experts working together to solve complex problems across several market segments. The Project Management team works directly with the professional services consultants, clients, operations staff, and our products teams to provide project management best practices, enable process improvement, and assist with change management. We deliver the Project Management framework with flexibility across a wide variety of client and internal engagements, participating in the full spectrum of the project delivery process. High level of responsibility and visibility while collaborating across many internal teams Take responsibility for your own projects, see them through to successful implementation Innovation is significant in our culture and continues to drive our growth and success Milliman demonstrates work‑life balance through a variety of benefits and programs Job Responsibilities Reporting to the Program Manager, manage individually assigned projects while collaborating with and supporting other Project Managers across team initiatives as needed, to include overseeing multiple concurrent projects of varying complexity and duration, such as technical integrations, new data sources, and product‑related initiatives Apply standard project management tools and techniques as needed. Tailor approach based on project needs Effectively communicate the health of projects to all levels of stakeholders both internal and external Learn our business, products, clientele, partners, and internal teams Support the implementation of new processes or improvements to existing processes Support project leadership in creating detailed project plans including goals, priorities, deliverables, schedule, budget, risks, and resources Hold internal constituents at all levels accountable for timelines and commitments Document projects with an eye for process improvements to facilitate change Facilitate communication across teams Speak the "language" of all teams involved, translate between levels and functions Work cooperatively and treat clients and coworkers with respect and dignity while valuing individual differences Demonstrate commitment to being creative, innovative, flexible, and adaptable, focusing on quality solutions, and continually improving Participate in developing the organization's project management maturity through enhanced project management processes and tools Minimum Requirements Two to Four years of professional experience in project management, coordination, or related role, preferably in a project‑based environment (previous experience in healthcare, pharmacy, and consulting is beneficial, but not required) Continued education, degree, certification(s), and/or professional training in any of the following: economics, business, math, statistics, computer science, information systems Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications Familiarity with Project Management Software, tools, methodologies, & best practices Competencies and Behaviors that Support Success in this Role Previous experience working in a consulting environment A team player who is well‑versed in developing and implementing processes, leading and managing across all levels, and delivering results Demonstrated "let's find a way to do it" attitude - no task is too big or too small Comfortable working through ambiguous situations Naturally curious, self‑driven to obtain necessary information and make decisions Successively manage day‑to‑day details as well as big picture, long term plans Effective at using influence to drive decision‑making and issue resolution Collaborative and diplomatic approach, willing to accept or challenge the status quo Ability to understand and communicate with audiences that are both technical and non‑technical minded Ability to manage a variety of simultaneous projects Ability to be proactive with a sense of urgency Willing to take on new tasks over time Loves to learn, takes every opportunity to develop knowledge and skills Dedicated to long‑term effectiveness through iterative development Experience working in a HIPAA / PHI / PCI compliant environment Comfortable presenting in front of groups (in person, via WebEx, etc.) Compensation The overall salary range for this role is $78,800 - $145,130. For candidates residing in Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $90,620 - $145,130. All other locations the salary range is $78,800 - $126,200. Location It is preferred that candidates work in‑office at the Chicago, Milwaukee, or Hartford office. Remote candidates will be considered. The expected application deadline for this job is October 30, 2026.
