Cybersecurity Policy Intern (Graduate)

Job Description: Cybersecurity Policy Intern (Graduate) Zeichner Risk Analytics (ZRA) is a small firm providing policy, legal, and management consulting services to private-sector and federal government clients in the field of cybersecurity. ZRA is seeking qualified graduate students for a paid Cybersecurity Policy internship. This is a hybrid position: 50% remote and 50% in-person in Arlington, VA. Compensation: $28 - $35 per hour, base on qualifications. Cybersecurity Policy Intern Key Responsibilities: Conduct research into technical, policy, and governmental topics and present findings to ZRA consultants and clients. Develop briefings and reports to convey research findings and strategic recommendations. Track governmental affairs and industry trends, including taking notes at relevant Congressional hearings and industry conferences, and monitoring Federal Register publications. Establish and maintain client relationships. Provide editing, proofreading, and deliverable finalization support. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field(s), including cybersecurity, national security, international affairs, political science, risk management, cybersecurity, or business. Strong briefing skills and experience, including PowerPoint presentations and public speaking. Demonstrated proficiency in open-source research. Skills and demonstrated interest in policy analysis and cybersecurity. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work 30 hours per week, including 50% in-office at ZRA Headquarters in Arlington, VA. Eligibility for Top Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Active security clearance (any level) Previous professional experience in national security, cybersecurity, or consulting. Strong technical knowledge, including professional certifications such as COMPTIA, CISSP, PMP, etc. Graduate students entering their final semester will receive preference. Required availability: Availability to work for twelve weeks (exact start and end dates are flexible); the internship may be extended based on mutual interest and performance. Interns may be eligible for full-time employment after internship ends, subject to availability. Additional Information: Selected applicants must pass a pre-employment drug test and background review, which includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Preferred, but not required: Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain an upper-level security clearance (Top Secret), which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
