Job Description

Position Summary:\nThe Sr. Controls Engineers will be responsible for leading the controls team. In this position the Sr. Controls Engineer will be responsible for the control systems and qualification documentation for our growth into AI and Manufacturing 4.0 initiatives. The Sr. Controls Engineer will be responsible for leading the controls teams supporting production on automation design, installation and launch, as well as new machine controls, drives, and schematics related to the equipment. \n\nPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nUpdate, modify, and improve existing controls systems including robotic programs, ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, pneumatic, distribution and control.\n\n•\tLead the controls team and projects \n•\tDesign and develop new machine controls including robotic, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and vision systems \n•\tDevelop and support maintenance programs on equipment \n•\tCoordinate with engineering and maintenance on existing machine control modifications to robotic, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and vision systems \n•\tCreate, maintain current hard copies and electronic data bases: all electrical, pneumatic schematics, panel layouts, PLC, operator display, operator interface, and robot programs machine power distribution and all related vendor controls component parts documentation \n•\tSchedule and complete back-ups of all electronic machine controls and robotic programs on set schedule \n•\tImplement and maintain data collection system from shop floor processing equipment \n•\tMaintain and expand existing plant floor machine control to Ethernet gateways, links and connections \n•\tMaintain all sub machine control data highways \n•\tMaintain and update controls portion of machine standards \n•\tCoordinate with and assist company systems personnel with plant floor Ethernet machine drop routing and Ethernet message traffic control \n•\tComplete correspondence, forms and reports using computer and applicable software \n•\tHandle confidential information on a regular basis \n•\tActive member of a cross-functional launch team \n•\tEncourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example \n•\tPromote and facilitate Open Door process, effective and respectful communication \n•\tParticipate in Continual Improvement activities \n•\tAdhere to customer requirements, Quality System and company policies \n•\tPerform other duties as assigned
