Pharmacy Board Compliance Specialist (Southwest Region)

Overview Specialists play a critical role in fulfilling the mission of the Board of Pharmacy by being actively involved in the progressive changes within the pharmacy profession. Specialists have the ability to work within an agency that is making positive strides to move the pharmacy profession to a new level of patient care and ensuring processes are in place to protect the public. Responsibilities Conduct inspections of diverse and specialized establishments where drugs are dispensed, manufactured, or sold for compliance with federal and state drug laws and regulations. Investigate complaints of violations of drug laws and regulations. Assist in prosecution of violators. Provide in‑depth counseling to pharmacists and drug distributors to facilitate compliance with state and federal drug laws and violations. Assist other specialists, agents, and inspectors to expedite cases. Provide drug information to pharmacists, distributors, and the general public to promote awareness of drug abuse and laws. Qualifications License to practice pharmacy as a pharmacist issued by the State Board of Pharmacy pursuant to Sections 4729.01 to 4729.29 of the Ohio Revised Code. Five years of experience as a registered pharmacist or equivalent, including three years of tertiary‑level hospital experience (ER, OR, ICU, lab, etc.) involving sterile drug compounding, complex automated drug delivery systems, electronic record‑keeping, and use of positive identification, or comparable institutional facility or diversified specialty pharmacy experience. Valid driver's license. Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above. Training Selected candidates will complete a 16‑week training program in Columbus, Ohio, including field work. Travel to and from training is required. Employment Terms Initial probationary period: 365 days. Starting salary will be set at Step 1 of the pay range unless required otherwise by legislation or collective‑bargaining agreement. Location Southwest Region of Ohio – Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Greene, Hamilton, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby, Warren. Assigned headquarters county: Butler, Clinton, Hamilton, or Warren. Final candidate must reside in or relocate to Butler or Hamilton County within 180 days of hire.
