Our ideal candidate Our Veterinary Technicians are the heartbeat of our team and work side by side with our Veterinarians (DVMs) during procedures. A full-time position would require working between 30-40 hours a week, which includes a combination of day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. One weekend shift is required. Requirements Licensed in the state of New York or ability to transfer license. Professional and upbeat demeanor, promoting a positive attitude among co‑workers. Dependable and reliable. Prior veterinary experience. Job Duties Assisting veterinarians in the treatment of animals with proficient technical skills including: Restraint Radiology Emergency procedures Surgical and dental procedures Nursing care Client education Obtaining laboratory samples and performing needed tests Administering and filling prescription medications Appropriately maintaining treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies Maintaining professional demeanor at all times Being courteous during client communications (face‑to‑face, telephone, or email) Demonstrating professional behavior and maintaining good rapport with the DVM, hospital team, and accurately maintaining medical records Being willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members Job Requirements Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology required. Valid New York State Veterinary Technology license required. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift heavy pets and objects up to 50 lbs. Must be comfortable and confident handling large animals. Must be able to stand for long periods, and be able to bend, squat, reach, pull. Compensation Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience starting at a range between $21-23/hr.
