Network engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Network engineer for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will design and manage secure, high-availability enterprise and hybrid cloud network infrastructure, including data center networking, firewall management, and Azure connectivity.

Rate Range: $54/Hour to $60/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Network engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise data center and hybrid cloud network infrastructure ensuring high availability and performance.
• Configure and manage Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switches, including Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, routing, and segmentation.
• Administer Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls, implementing security policies, VPNs, NAT, and advanced threat protection features.
• Manage hybrid connectivity using Azure networking services such as ExpressRoute, Virtual Networks, and site-to-site VPNs.
• Troubleshoot complex network, firewall, and cloud connectivity issues impacting enterprise systems, applications, and databases.
• Monitor network performance, conduct traffic analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure and reliable operations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering and hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong expertise in Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switching, BGP/OSPF routing, and enterprise firewall management (Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto).
• Proven experience with Azure networking (VNet, ExpressRoute, VPN) and implementing secure, high-availability hybrid cloud network architectures.

Pay Details: $54.00 to $60.00 per hour
