Description:

The Senior Executive Freight Solutions Representative for the Freight Brokerage Division is responsible for developing new business, managing customer relationships, and generating profitable growth through the acquisition and retention of shippers.

This role plays a key part in expanding the brokerage network by identifying opportunities, negotiating rates, and coordinating with operations and carriers to ensure customers receive a high-quality service experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Prospecting

• Identify and target new shippers through calls, email outreach, networking, and industry platforms.
• Develop a pipeline of qualified prospects and maintain a consistent flow of opportunities.
• Research market trends, lanes, and pricing to identify competitive advantages.

2. Customer Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers.
• Understand customer requirements, pain points, and freight patterns to develop tailored logistics solutions.
• Provide updates, service visibility, and proactive communication to ensure customer satisfaction.

3. Pricing, Negotiation & Contracting

• Prepare and negotiate spot quotes, contract rates, and service proposals.
• Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure pricing aligns with company profitability goals.
• Manage RFP/RFQ processes for key accounts.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure loads are properly scheduled, dispatched, and executed.
• Work with Carrier Sales or Carrier Relations to secure capacity at competitive rates.
• Escalate service issues and collaborate on solutions to protect customer satisfaction.

5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Track sales KPIs, revenue targets, and margin contribution.
• Maintain accurate CRM records for all accounts, opportunities, and interactions.
• Prepare weekly sales updates and forecasts for the Operations Manager.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

Education

Can this be done with an Associates or High School diploma? Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).

Experience

3+ years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, transportation, or 3PL services.

Proven success in B2B sales, prospecting, and negotiation.

Familiarity with carriers, lanes, freight classes, and rate structures (RPM/CPM).

Skills

Strong communication and relationship-building capabilities.

Excellent negotiation and closing skills.

Ability to understand customer operations and propose value-added solutions.

Results-oriented, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with CRM systems, TMS platforms, and industry load boards.
