Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Columbia Mental Health is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department in Washington, DC. In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based outpatient psychotherapy and mental health services to a diverse adult and adolescent population experiencing mood, anxiety, trauma-related, and other psychiatric conditions. You will conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, formulate individualized treatment plans, and deliver ongoing individual, family, and group therapy using advanced therapeutic approaches tailored to each patient’s needs. As a core member of an interdisciplinary care team, you will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, case managers, and other mental health professionals to support holistic, patient-centered care. You will monitor clinical progress, adjust treatment plans based on outcomes, and coordinate referrals to internal and community resources as appropriate. The role requires maintaining timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation within our electronic medical record system, including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in accordance with agency, state, and federal standards. Therapists at Columbia Mental Health are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards of practice, safeguard patient confidentiality, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed therapeutic environment. You will actively participate in case consultations, clinical supervision, and interdisciplinary team meetings to review complex cases, integrate best practices, and support effective care transitions. You will also contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives, using outcome measures and patient feedback to enhance service delivery.
