We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room (OR) for a 13-week contract position in Machias, Maine. The OR RN will provide safe, effective, patient- and family-centered nursing care throughout the perioperative period.

Candidates must be able to scrub and should also be comfortable circulating and assisting in the recovery room as needed. This position requires strong communication and collaboration with surgeons and other members of the perioperative team.

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

• Perform both scrub and circulating responsibilities while maintaining sterile technique and established surgical safety standards.

• Assist with recovery-room nursing responsibilities as needed based on departmental workflow and patient-care requirements.

• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and other members of the perioperative healthcare team.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner while protecting patient confidentiality and following established policies and procedures.

• Active Maine Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.

• Minimum 1 Year of Registered Nursing / Operating Room Experience Required.

• Operating Room Scrub Experience Required; Ability to Scrub and Circulate Required.

• Current BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS Certifications Required.

• Covid-19 Vaccination Required; CNOR Certification Preferred.

The Operating Room Registered Nurse will provide skilled perioperative nursing care while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical services.
