Senior Cost AccountantThe Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for plant-level cost accounting, including inventory, standard costing, and the monthly financial close for the Pennsylvania and Arizona plants. Under the guidance of the Plant Controller, this role partners with plant leadership to provide financial insights, ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls, and support budgeting, ERP initiatives, and operational decision-making.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for monthly plant financial close process areas including inventory, work-in-process (WIP), manufacturing variances, accruals, and related cost accounting activitiesManage and maintain inventory valuation, standard costing, and cost driver configuration within the ERP system to ensure accurate product costingEnsure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and audit requirements while maintaining strong financial governancePartner with plant leadership to provide cost visibility, analyze manufacturing performance, and explain operational and production variancesSupport the annual budgeting and forecasting process by providing cost analysis and financial insights into plant operationsAssist with ERP system implementations and enhancements, including plant costing configuration, system testing, and process validationPrepare and post journal entries related to inventory, manufacturing costs, accruals, and other plant accounting activitiesEssential FunctionsDemonstrates a commitment to continuous learning by proactively developing accounting knowledge and skills, staying current with best practices and standards, and applying new learning to improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall job performanceMust be highly motivated, able to follow direction, and perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervisionMaintain a strong commitment to accuracy, integrity, and financial controls by ensuring compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirementsMust be able to identify and escalate financial, operational, or compliance issues in a timely manner, exercising sound judgment and appropriately challenging decisions when necessaryMust be able to speak, listen, and effectively communicate with team members both verbally and in writingMust be able to work collaboratively within the department and with multiple departments within the companyStrong organizational skills and ability to analyze / interpret technical information, mathematical concepts, and form conclusionsAdherence to the company attendance policy is required, including expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absencesInvolves extensive computer systems/software operation and regular use of office equipmentWork is primarily sedentaryExerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, manipulate or otherwise move objectsSubstantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingersRequires the visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive readingQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance8+ years of accounting experienceStrong Microsoft skills with Word, Excel, and Power BI
