Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join a growing behavioral health practice in Union, NJ. This role involves collaborating closely with supervising physicians, therapists, and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a variety of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.

The practice offers a supportive clinical environment with administrative assistance, care coordination support, and streamlined workflows, allowing providers to focus on delivering high-quality patient-centered care.
Qualifications:

• Master's (minimum) or Doctorate degree in Nursing with current PMHNP certification
• Active New Jersey RN and NP licensure
• Independent leadership experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, especially with chronic, major, or treatment-resistant depressive disorders, in an outpatient practice setting
• Experience with talk therapy, psychotherapy, or counseling approaches is a plus
• Experience treating major depressive disorder and/or treatment-resistant depression strongly preferred
• Familiarity with chronic pain populations strongly preferred
• Prior Spravato experience highly preferred
• Interest in helping grow a behavioral health treatment program strongly preferred
• DEA registration or eligibility for controlled substance prescribing

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Diagnose and manage behavioral health conditions related to chronic pain and spine disorders
• Provide medication management and therapeutic interventions
• Collaborate closely with pain management physicians, spine specialists, physical therapists, and care coordinators
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Evaluate patients for candidacy for Spravato treatment and ongoing psychiatric care
• Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care for psychiatric patients, including those receiving Spravato
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation
• Educate patients on coping strategies, treatment options, and wellness practices
• Participate in case conferences and quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and clinical standards
