Overview:

Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring a Nurse Supervisor for the Emergency Department!

Hours/Shift: Full Time (40 hr/week)

The Supervisor, Nursing and Patient Care Services in a hospital setting plays a key leadership role in the nursing department, supporting the manager in overseeing all patient care activity on their assigned nursing unit(s). They are responsible for ensuring high standards of care, coordinating daily nursing activities, and facilitating communication between medical teams. Assists with the training, mentoring, and performance evaluations of clinical staff. They also manage patient care assignments, help resolve patient and family concerns, and ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and safety regulations. Additionally, they assist in staffing decisions, maintain inventory for medical supplies, and ensure that the unit is properly equipped to provide quality care.

Our department includes multiple treatment areas that care for patients across all acuity levels, offering diverse clinical exposure and the opportunity to work with a strong team focused on quality outcomes and performance excellence.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (Required) or MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure:

• Registered Nursing License (Required)
• BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years emergency nursing and 1 year of nursing leadership experience.

Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 274-bed acute care facility that opened in 1903 and relocated to its present site in 1977. Our hospital completed a renovation in 2016, including two new patient towers, a beautiful atrium, and a multi-story parking garage. Sentara Leigh Hospital includes a dedicated Orthopedic Hospital providing patients access to a full continuum of orthopedic care, from the preoperative phase and surgery to rehabilitation and home care services.
