Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse (RN) needed for a neurological intensive care unit in Walnut Creek, California. This position involves night shifts with a start date of August 11, 2026, for a duration of 13 weeks. The role requires managing complex neuro critical cases within a level II trauma facility, including patients with cardiac, pulmonary, renal, sepsis, and trauma conditions. The nurse will provide specialized care for patients with ventilators, tracheostomies, central lines, and titrating drips, while adhering to hospital-acquired infection prevention protocols.

Job Details:

• Location: Walnut Creek, California
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Current California nursing license, at least 2 years of experience in ICU neuro, certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel nursing experience, Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification, EPIC electronic medical record system experience
• Float: Float rotation may be required, with staff floating as needed under the same scope of skill

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU neuro setting
• Additional Information: Candidates must possess a current California professional license at the time of submission. The facility is a Level II trauma center, handling cases such as head injuries, cerebral bleeds, and multi-system failure, excluding transplant surgeries. Responsibilities include managing ventilators, trachs, central lines, and titrating drips, with familiarity in infection prevention protocols.
