The mill includes multiple process lines of wood handling, pulping, power and recovery, and effluent treatment. The scope of the position includes implementing, coordinating, maintaining, monitoring, and reporting the progress of environmental programs. The position works within the HSE, Health Safety and Environmental, group and reports to the Environmental Manager.The Job You Will Perform:The Environmental Engineer’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Providing visible and active leadership in delivering excellent safety resultsReporting and communicating safety and performance measurements against objectivesCompleting safety audits to ensure internal and external resources are complying with safe work practicesCoordinating and driving all waste management compliance activitiesEnsuring that the mill is aligned with corporate initiatives and prioritiesInterfacing directly with federal, state regulatory agencies and community members to represent the mill within the community and regionParticipates in environmental compliance audits and assists the sites in closing the open action itemsPrepares, reviews and updates environmental reports Interacting with and providing regulatory guidance to mill operations, maintenance, and management personnel on a day-to-day basisManaging day-to-day waste activities related to landfill operations and provide support to landfill operatorsParticipating as a member of HSE department;
