Removal Defense Associate Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Removal Defense Associate Attorney in Miami Beach. This role involves advocating for clients facing deportation, managing complex cases, and representing clients in Immigration Court. The position requires travel for hearings and offers a dynamic environment dedicated to defending immigrant rights. Duties Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and on appeal. Appear in court with clients via WebEx and/or in-person. Travel as needed for court hearings. Communicate with clients and prepare them for hearings. Support clients with USCIS interviews and ICE check-ins. Prepare and manage case filings, ensuring compliance with deadlines. Review and prepare briefs, motions, and applications for EOIR. Conduct legal research and analysis for case strategies. Stay updated with changes in immigration law and policy. Develop strategic solutions to complex legal issues. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance case outcomes. Perform additional duties to support the firm's mission. Uphold professionalism, ethics, and client advocacy. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree or Master of Laws (LLM) from an accredited law school. Active Bar license in good standing in any U.S. state. 2-5 years of experience as a removal defense attorney. Experience representing clients in individual hearings. Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking). Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software. Reliable transportation for travel to hearings. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree or Master of Laws (LLM). Certifications Active Bar license in good standing in any U.S. state. Skills Strong legal research and writing skills. Excellent communication and advocacy skills. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English and Spanish.
