Field Service Technician

Our client, a growing provider of industrial water treatment solutions, is seeking a Field Service Technician to join their team. This role is ideal for a mechanically and electrically minded professional who enjoys working independently in the field, solving technical challenges, and building strong customer relationships.

The Role

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of industrial water treatment systems at customer sites. You will support the ongoing performance of equipment through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, data collection, and system optimization. Full equipment-specific training will be provided

This position operates primarily on a Monday–Friday day shift schedule, with overtime opportunities and occasional weekend work as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on industrial water treatment equipment, including pumps, valves, controllers, instrumentation, and associated systems.
• Install, start up, and commission new water treatment systems, including PVC pipework, electrical connections, and media/membrane loading.
• Conduct on-site water quality testing and analysis, including pH, conductivity, hardness, and other operational parameters.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during service visits, providing technical support, training, and detailed service documentation.
• Identify and address potential safety concerns while maintaining high safety standards at all times.
• Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and a strong willingness to learn and develop technical expertise.

Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• 2–5 years of technical experience within municipal, industrial, or commercial water treatment environments, or transferable experience working with industrial/commercial equipment and related mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to use mobile and smart devices for reporting and communication.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.

Ability to pass background, drug screening, and driving record checks.

• Physical ability to lift 50–75 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces when required.

Travel Requirements:

• Daily local travel to customer sites.
• Approximately 10–25% overnight travel as required.
