Recovery Mentor - ODHS Systems Specialist [044] [045]

The rate of pay for this position is $22.50 per hour. Do you have the drive or experience to be an assurance and lift for young people facing houselessness? If so, New Avenues for Youth is seeking a Recovery Mentor to join our ROSE & THORN team. Qualifications Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) credential or ability to obtain within three months of hire. High School Diploma or GED required. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and active automobile insurance. Must meet and maintain DHS Driver Standards requirements. Experience working with adolescents and young adults preferred. Knowledge of evidence-based prevention and early intervention practices. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, positive youth development, treatment engagement strategies, and culturally responsive service delivery. Knowledge of ODHS Child Welfare systems and community resources preferred. Strong communication, advocacy, relationship-building, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse youth, families, staff, and community partners. What You’ll Do Support Growth and Learning: Provide individualized skill-building and coaching to youth to strengthen essential life and workforce skills, facilitate career-focused groups and workshops, organize college and jobsite tours, all in the spirit of expanding one’s knowledge and potential career opportunities. Be a Mentor and Guide: Build genuine connections with youth, share relevant and intentional experiences to instill confidence and build trust. Empower Through Advocacy: Help young people navigate complex systems, access resources, collaborate and coordinate with other providers, and make informed decisions about their own career journey. Document the Journey: Maintain accurate and timely records, ensuring that our programs have the data they need to thrive and continue serving those who need it most.
