Data Engineer

Develop, support, and implement data solutions for multiple applications Design, build, and maintain technology solutions Lead data requirements analysis and development of data preparation processes Design and build data service infrastructure across multiple data platforms according to workflow Oversee development and implementation of scalable, available, and maintainable data solutions Consult on data migration and transformation to ensure data accuracy and security Lead technical standards, code reviews, mentoring, and collaborative engineering practices Manage risk and align solutions with customer needs and PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework Requirements Advanced Python mastery and software engineering skills Expertise writing clean, reusable, and maintainable Python code Adherence to software engineering standards, patterns, and architectures Deep familiarity with Git Experience managing Linux-based remote development environments Understanding of reliability engineering, incident response, root-cause analysis, and postmortem processes Expertise with Oracle SQL and large tables Understanding of database execution techniques, indexing, schema strategies, and query optimization Experience with ETL/ELT patterns and frameworks Understanding of data quality frameworks, validation, reconciliation, and automated testing Knowledge of resource optimization and processing bottleneck elimination Experience designing pipeline state, failure, incremental load, and operational metadata tracking mechanisms Knowledge of production process maintenance and support Advanced experience with Cron, Airflow, and Kafka workflow orchestration Familiarity with cloud solutions, ETL tooling, and high-performance data warehousing Understanding of SDLC, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines Experience defining coding standards and leading code reviews Ability to mentor and upskill other engineers University/college degree typically required, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience In lieu of a degree, comparable education, job-specific certifications, and experience, including military service, may be considered No required certifications No required licenses PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT Core Competencies Demonstrates advanced Python mastery and software engineering skills, with expertise in writing clean, reusable code and adherence to software engineering standards.
