Senior Accountant (ERP Experience)

VALiNTRY is seeking a Senior Accountant with hands-on experience in Workday Financials, or a candidate with experience in a comparable ERP system who is eager to learn and master Workday. This is a direct-hire, onsite position in Birmingham, AL, supporting a large and rapidly growing organization with over 120 branches nationwide. The company operates across multiple industries and continues to expand its footprint and capabilities.

The salary range for this role is $80,000-$90,000 annually. Candidates with additional high-value technical skills may be considered for higher compensation. Strong technical professionals are encouraged to apply.

This position offers exposure beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, providing hands-on experience across diverse business lines. The accounting team delivers quarterly P&Ls to Area, Regional, and Senior Vice President leadership, while supporting reporting across multiple subsidiaries.

The organization operates within a highly integrated systems environment, where most financial transactions flow directly into Workday from operational platforms. Additional systems include QuickBooks (manufacturing) and FactorSoft (factoring).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close processes across multiple entities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Perform, review, and automate bank reconciliations within Workday
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
• Maintain, optimize, and enhance accounting processes and workflows within Workday
• Analyze financial and operational data trends using Looker
• Partner closely with the Controller and a lean, collaborative accounting team to support executive-level reporting and decision-making

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

• Hands-on experience with Workday Financials or another ERP system in an accounting capacity
• Strong experience with month-end close, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Experience performing bank reconciliations, ideally with exposure to automation or process improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in large, multi-entity organizations
• Solid understanding of intercompany accounting
• Experience working in high-volume or complex data environments
• Exposure to automation, AI tools, or process optimization initiatives
