Store Manager Trainee

Your Role at Dollar Tree As a Store Manager in Training, you’ll engage in on‑job training to learn how to manage the profitable operations of your assigned store. Your day‑to‑day duties include recruiting and hiring store associates, training them, overseeing daily store activities, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies, performing opening and closing procedures, communicating operational and merchandising direction from headquarters, protecting company assets, and maintaining high customer service standards. Responsibilities Recruit and hire store associates to serve our customers. Foster the growth and development of associates through training on operations and merchandising while coaching and correcting as appropriate. Oversee and delegate all store activities to ensure smooth daily operations. Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations while enforcing company policies and procedures. Perform opening and closing procedures as needed. Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated from corporate headquarters. Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution. Protect company assets. Maintain a high level of customer service across the store. Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders. Skills and Experience Minimum 3 years of prior retail management experience (preferred). Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience a plus. Strong productivity management in freight processing. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills. Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment. Must be able to lift between 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
